Visual Foundation Inspection

Professional Engineer (PE) certified with Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company (CFSIC) to provide Visual Foundation Inspections on your home and assess a Severity Class Code.

As a homeowner, you are reimbursed up to $400 for this service.

Core Sampling

A minimum of two (2) cores are taken from your foundation walls.  A Petrographic Analysis will be completed on the concrete samples. The full analysis will be available on average within 2.5-3 weeks.

As a homeowner in CT, you are reimbursed at 50% (up to $2,000) and in MA at 75% (up to $5,000) for this service.

What You Can Expect with a Visual Foundation Inspection

  • Minimum of 1 Hour for the Visual Foundation Inspection

  • Measurements, Documentation, and Photographs of the Exposed and Relevant Areas

  • Report in PDF Format Within 48 Hours.  The Report Includes
    • Written Description
    • Labeled Photos
    • Outline Sketch of the Property
    • Severity Class Code
    • PE Stamp with Signature
    • Electronic Invoice

What You Can Expect with a Core Sample

  • Minimum of 90 Minutes from start to finish

  • Minimum of two cores, 4" in diameter- full depth through the foundation walls

  • Petrographic Analysis in electronic format available anywhere from 2.5-3 weeks from the date the lab receives the cores

Michael Bugbee, PE


Mike is a licensed and insured Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience working with the placement, design, and inspection of concrete.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and is currently pursuing a Master's degree at The University of Connecticut.  Prior to his professional career, he served 10 years in the CT Army National Guard.  Mike resides in South Windsor with his wife and children.
